Your Assessment

What is Involved?

We believe in a comprehensive and personalised approach to weight management. Your initial assessment is a crucial step in understanding your health needs and goals. This thorough evaluation helps us create a treatment plan that is safe, effective, and tailored specifically to you—because we know there’s no one-size-fits-all solution for weight loss.

We conduct a detailed metabolic health assessment to ensure we gather the most accurate and meaningful information about your health. Your assessment includes the following:

1. Bio-Impedance Assessment

We use electrical impulses to measure your body composition, including fat and muscle mass. This helps us track your fat loss accurately and throughout your treatment.

2. Anthropometric Measurements
We assess your fat mass and its distribution within your body. We know that not all fat is the same—visceral fat (fat around your organs) is linked to health risks. Our measurements help us target fat loss effectively.

3. Blood Tests
We perform several metabolic tests to check for obesity-related complications, such as insulin resistance, dyslipidemia (abnormal cholesterol levels), and fatty liver disease. We also undertake a complete nutritional and hormonal profile to assess for causes and complications of excess weight.

4. Imaging
We may recommend imaging tests to further evaluate your health including body composition analysis (DEXA) and imaging to screen for cardio-metabolic health conditions. We are linked to all major radiological centres across WA.

5. Psychology
As part of our holistic approach, we discuss your psychological health to understand your mindset and to support positive changes in behaviour that are personalised and sustainable. Our clinical psychologist is also available to support you.

6. Behaviour assessment

Understanding more about your approach to eating, sleep, activity and relaxation is key to personalising a relevant, achievable and meaningful treatment plan for weight loss that is sustainable long term. This is undertaken in a stigma-free and non-judgmental way and is not about advising you to eat less or exercise more, but to help you to establish changes in behaviour that harmonise with other treatments that may be recommended to optimise weight loss and health gain.

7. Wearables

We advise on the use of wearable devices such as continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) to support changes in nutrition to improve health. CGMs may help to identify foods that impact negatively on glucose variability which can lead to weight gain (or difficulty losing weight) and increase the risk of developing insulin resistance. We monitor your glucose readings remotely and advise on your glucose trends to support positive changes. We collaborate with leading providers and can provide discounted access to monitors. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
