 Dr Mark Mellor 

Mark is our lead clinician and a specialist general practitioner in obesity and metabolic health. In 2025, he was awarded Recognition of Extended Skills in obesity management by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), a recognition pathway he established as part of a working group for the College.

Mark is Western Australia lead for the RACGP Obesity Specific Interest Group. In this role, he promotes education and learning in obesity management for healthcare practitioners. Also, as an RACGP Future Leader, he advocates for access to treatment for people with obesity.

Mark is SCOPE-certified (an internationally recognised standard of obesity management expertise). He completed the Horizon Program In Obesity Management (accredited by the World Obesity Federation) in 2022 and the Postgraduate Diploma in Obesity and Weight Management (The University of South Wales) in 2025.

Mark regularly presents to GPs, specialists and allied healthcare practitioners on obesity management and provides advisory services to healthcare and industry organisations.

​​​

He is a member of ANZOS (Australian and New Zealand Obesity Society) and NACOS (National Association of Clinical Obesity Services).
