  • What type of appointments do you offer?
Perth Weight Clinic offers in-person consultations for all patients. Medicare rebates are available for eligible Medicare cardholders.
  • Can I get a Medicare rebate for my appointment?
Yes, Medicare rebates are available to all Medicare card holders. However, please note that Perth Weight Clinic is a private billing clinic, and we do not offer concessions for weight management consultations for concession card holders.
  • What treatments are available at Perth Weight Clinic?
At Perth Weight Clinic, we offer personalised treatments tailored to your unique health needs and goals. We understand that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution for weight management. Our approach focuses on achieving your goals through the four pillars of health: nutrition, activity, sleep, and wellbeing. As medical and allied health practitioners, we provide a range of evidence-based treatments for weight loss, including lifestyle changes, medications, and advice on bariatric metabolic surgery. After a comprehensive consultation and metabolic health assessment, we’ll guide you in choosing the most suitable treatment options for your needs. Medications All TGA-approved medications for weight loss are available at Perth Weight Clinic. These medications may be prescribed following an in-person consultation with one of our clinicians and where we assess if they are appropriate for you. Due to restrictions, we cannot discuss treatment options without a consultation. Bariatric Metabolic Surgery For those considering bariatric metabolic surgery, we work closely with a network of trusted bariatric surgeons across Perth. We’ll advise you on the most appropriate treatment options and help determine the best approach based on your needs.
  • Is the treatment provided at Perth Weight Clinic safe?
At Perth Weight Clinic, all of our practitioners are AHPRA-registered, ensuring that you receive care from qualified and trusted professionals. We are committed to patient safety and regularly audit our clinical practices to maintain high standards of care. Additionally, we actively seek patient feedback to continuously improve our services. If you’d like to provide feedback, make comments, or share any concerns about our services or a practitioner, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@perthweightclinic.com.au. We value your input and are dedicated to ensuring your experience with us is safe and positive.
  • Am I eligible for weight loss treatment?
At Perth Weight Clinic, weight management goes beyond just prescribing medication. We focus on supporting all aspects of your health, including nutrition, exercise, sleep, and overall wellbeing. Before recommending any treatment, we conduct a comprehensive assessment of your health to ensure that the treatment we offer is both appropriate and safe for you. We prescribe anti-obesity medications in accordance with TGA-approved guidelines to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Will you tell me to just eat less and exercise more?
No! For decades, healthcare providers and public health programs have told people with obesity that eating less and exercising more will lead to weight loss. While this may work in the short term, metabolic adaptation often causes many individuals to regain the weight over time. This creates a frustrating cycle of weight loss and weight regain, leaving many feeling hopeless. At Perth Weight Clinic, we understand that obesity is a chronic disease. The scientific evidence shows that personalised treatment can lead to lasting weight loss for many people. Our approach does not rely on willpower, extreme motivation, or restrictive eating. Instead, we focus on providing treatments that promote healthy, sustainable weight loss that brings meaningful results.
  • I have medical problems related to my weight. Can you manage these?
Yes, absolutely. As AHPRA-registered medical and allied health practitioners, we are fully licensed to treat a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. Weight management is not just about losing weight—it’s about improving overall health. Many of our clients benefit from treatment for co-existing medical and surgical conditions alongside their weight management journey. This includes conditions such as menopause, mood and eating disorders, joint issues, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
